EAUT Promotes Scientific Research and Prepares Teams for Robocon 2027

With its educational orientation focused on hands-on learning and the development of technological creativity, East Asia University of Technology (EAUT) continues to promote scientific research among students through the 2026 Robotmini Competition, themed “The Aspiration to Build a Tower.” The competition provides students in engineering and technology disciplines with opportunities to apply their specialized knowledge to robot design, fabrication, and control, while developing teamwork and practical problem-solving skills. It also represents an important preparatory step in EAUT’s efforts to build a strong student team for the Vietnam Robot Creation Contest – Robocon 2027.

Robotmini 2026 – A Technology Competition Inspiring Creativity Among EAUT Students

Robotmini is a hands-on activity for students at East Asia University of Technology who are passionate about scientific research, engineering, and technology. Under the theme “The Aspiration to Build a Tower,” the competition challenges teams to apply their specialized knowledge, develop design plans, and build robots capable of completing tasks in accordance with the competition rules.

The University organizes the competition for students from its engineering and technology faculties. The program aims to create an active learning environment where students can transform classroom knowledge into tangible engineering products, thereby enhancing practical skills and developing creative thinking.

Unlike learning solely through textbooks, robot fabrication requires students to address a range of challenges involving mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, control systems, and operation. From selecting a design approach and calculating structural specifications to assembling components and testing performance, every stage requires precision, perseverance, and close coordination among team members.

Through Robotmini 2026, students have the opportunity to test their ideas, identify design limitations, and refine their technical approaches based on practical results. This process helps students better understand the relationship between theoretical knowledge and the operational requirements of a technological product.

Beyond competition results, the event also helps foster a proactive learning spirit, encourages students to experiment with confidence, and gradually develops their research and innovation capabilities in a university environment.

Learning by Doing – Developing Engineering Skills Through Robot Fabrication

One of the key benefits of Robotmini 2026 is that it gives students the opportunity to participate directly in the development of engineering products. Through designing, assembling, programming, and testing robots, students can apply their specialized knowledge to specific tasks while strengthening their logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

During the process, teams must allocate tasks appropriately, coordinate among members, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of their chosen approaches. When a robot fails to meet the requirements, students must analyze the causes, identify shortcomings, and propose adjustments. These experiences help them develop a scientific working approach, adaptability, and a sense of responsibility for shared tasks.

In particular, robot fabrication is an interdisciplinary activity that requires the integration of expertise from multiple fields. Mechanical engineering knowledge supports the development of structures and motion mechanisms; electrical and electronic engineering contributes to power supply systems, sensors, and connectivity; while programming and control enable robots to perform the required operations. Integrating these areas of knowledge is essential to creating a product that operates reliably.

Throughout this process, lecturers and technical staff provide guidance, technical support, and ongoing assistance to students. Combining lecturers’ professional expertise with students’ spirit of exploration helps create a structured practical learning environment where students can gain experience and improve their capabilities through repeated testing.

This approach also aligns with EAUT’s educational orientation: emphasizing hands-on learning, enhancing practical experience, and connecting specialized knowledge with the demands of engineering and technology.

EAUT Prepares Its Student Team for the Vietnam Robot Creation Contest – Robocon 2027

Robocon is a technology competition for students from universities and colleges nationwide, organized by Vietnam Television. The competition requires teams to study the rules, develop strategies, and build robots capable of completing tasks under specific conditions. To compete effectively, students need a solid foundation of specialized knowledge, practical skills, and strong teamwork abilities.

In recent years, East Asia University of Technology has participated in Robocon, gradually gaining experience through research, robot fabrication, and competition. In preparation for the 2027 season, the University continues to focus on developing a student team with strong technical expertise, a willingness to learn, and a passion for technological research.

In this context, Robotmini 2026 is not merely a standalone practical competition; it also serves as a talent development initiative, helping identify students with potential for further training. Through participation, students can demonstrate their engineering thinking, research initiative, and ability to collaborate in carrying out shared tasks.

Preparing for Robocon 2027 also requires sustained training over time. In addition to strengthening their knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, and control programming, team members need to improve their ability to conduct experiments, evaluate operational performance, and handle unexpected situations. Experience gained through practical activities such as Robotmini will provide a foundation for students to better prepare for more advanced engineering challenges.

Alongside the expansion of hands-on activities at the Bac Ninh campus, EAUT aims to create a supportive environment where students who share a passion for technology can connect, learn from one another, and develop their ideas. The planned establishment of a scientific research club will also help sustain innovation activities and provide students with opportunities to further develop their abilities beyond the formal curriculum.

Promoting Scientific Research and Fostering Technological Creativity at EAUT

The organization of Robotmini 2026 demonstrates East Asia University of Technology’s continued efforts to promote scientific research and enhance the quality of practical education. Through specialized competitions, students are encouraged to explore independently, test their ideas, and apply their knowledge to solve engineering problems.

The experience gained through robot fabrication not only supports students’ goal of participating in Robocon but also helps them develop essential skills for their future careers. Problem analysis, teamwork, progress management, and product improvement are all valuable capabilities in engineering and industrial production environments.

For EAUT, integrating specialized education with research, practical training, and innovation is one of the approaches adopted to support students’ comprehensive development. Each practical activity provides additional opportunities for students to test their knowledge, identify areas for improvement, and proactively shape their personal development pathways.

In preparation for Robocon 2027, East Asia University of Technology continues to focus on developing students’ capabilities, encouraging innovation, and strengthening the scientific research movement among students. Robotmini 2026 represents a concrete preparatory step in this journey, helping lay the groundwork for technological ideas to be developed into practical products.
