On the morning of November 6, 2026, at Meeting Room 401, Polyco Building, the Faculty of Business Administration of East Asia University of Technology organized a stakeholder consultation workshop on the E-commerce training program. The event brought together experts, scientists, recruiters, and business representatives to provide consultancy and critical feedback, contributing to the improvement of the curriculum in a modern and practical direction that meets labor market demands.

Connecting Experts and Businesses in Curriculum Development
Amid the ongoing digital transformation that is profoundly changing the ways goods are produced, traded, and distributed, E-commerce is increasingly affirming its important role in the economy. The development of digital platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, electronic payments, and omnichannel business models not only creates numerous opportunities for growth but also places new demands on the industry’s workforce.
In response to these changes, curriculum development must go beyond providing a foundation of specialized knowledge. It must also focus on students’ ability to apply technology, develop business thinking, strengthen practical skills, and adapt to real-world working environments.
The workshop was attended and chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Quang – Vice Rector of the University, in charge of the Economics sector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cong Hoang – Deputy Dean in charge of Scientific Research, concurrently Head of the Marketing Department and Head of the Committee for Developing the Proposal to Launch the E-commerce Program; together with lecturers from the Faculty of Business Administration.

It also provided an opportunity for the University to strengthen professional exchanges and receive direct feedback from organizations operating in business, technology, and commerce.

Using Business Practices as a Foundation for Curriculum Improvement
At the workshop, representatives of the curriculum development committee presented an overview of the program’s objectives, learning outcomes, structure, course system, and key areas requiring further consultation and critical feedback.
Building on this presentation, experts, scientists, and business representatives discussed industry development trends, workforce demands, and the essential competencies students need upon graduation. Their feedback focused not only on the curriculum’s academic rigor, logical structure, and continuity but also on its ability to meet job requirements in the digital business environment.
One of the key topics discussed was the integration of new knowledge and technologies into the curriculum. Artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, e-commerce platforms, and omnichannel business models were identified as areas having a direct impact on professional practice. Students therefore need to be equipped not only with foundational knowledge but also with the ability to use digital tools, analyze information, implement business activities, and adapt to rapid technological changes.
Alongside specialized content, the importance of strengthening practical training was particularly emphasized. Organizing practical activities, internships, business experiences, and participation in real-world projects will help students gradually develop professional thinking, improve problem-solving skills, and enhance their readiness for employment after graduation.
The feedback also addressed the need to define more clearly the expected learning outcomes, career opportunities, and recruitment requirements for E-commerce graduates. These are important foundations for ensuring a balanced curriculum that integrates foundational knowledge, specialized knowledge, professional skills, and technological application capabilities.
Through discussions and critical evaluation, areas requiring review and adjustment were examined from multiple perspectives, providing the curriculum development committee with a stronger practical basis for further research, consideration, and improvement.

Developing E-commerce Professionals for the Digital Era
The stakeholder consultation workshop on the E-commerce training program was a meaningful activity in the process of developing and improving the academic programs at East Asia University of Technology. Beyond providing a forum for experts and businesses to share their experience, the event also helped strengthen connections between the University and employers from the early stages of curriculum development.
The consultancy and critical feedback received at the workshop will be compiled, studied, and considered by the curriculum development committee, serving as a basis for further reviewing the training objectives, learning outcomes, program structure, and course content. This process will help progressively improve the curriculum by keeping it up to date with industry trends, strengthening practical competencies, and aligning it more closely with the actual needs of businesses.
With a learner-centered approach that emphasizes professional competencies and practical application, the Faculty of Business Administration and East Asia University of Technology aim to develop E-commerce professionals with strong specialized knowledge, modern business thinking, practical skills, and the ability to adapt to the digital environment.
The workshop also reaffirmed the importance of collaboration among the University, experts, and businesses in enhancing training quality and preparing a workforce capable of meeting the development demands of the digital economy in the new era.
