The 4th Vietnam–Japan University Presidents’ Conference Promotes Higher Education Cooperation\
The 4th Vietnam–Japan University Presidents’ Conference was held at Osaka University under the co-chairmanship of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training and Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The event brought together representatives from nearly 80 universities, educational and research institutions, organizations, and businesses from the two countries.
The conference served as an important forum for promoting Vietnam–Japan higher education cooperation, enabling educational institutions to exchange experiences, share development strategies, and explore opportunities for collaboration in scientific research, innovation, and high-quality human resource development.
As international cooperation plays an increasingly important role in higher education, strengthening connections between universities and businesses is considered a practical approach. Through cooperative programs, students can gain access to specialized knowledge, experience multicultural learning environments, and develop the skills needed to participate in the international labor market.
The EAUT delegation attending the conference included Dr. Dinh Van Thanh, Rector of the University, and Dr. Pham Ngoc Tuyen, Director of the International Human Resource Development Center. EAUT Rector Discusses Innovation and University–Business Cooperation\
During the conference, Dr. Dinh Van Thanh, Rector of East Asia University of Technology, participated in a parallel discussion session with representatives from universities and international experts. The discussions addressed issues related to policy, technology, innovation, and human resource development.
Key topics included strengthening collaboration among the Government, universities, and businesses, promoting applied research and technology transfer, and enhancing the ability of higher education to respond to the practical demands of the labor market.
For application-oriented universities such as EAUT, aligning classroom knowledge with the actual needs of businesses is essential to the education and training process. Students need not only a solid foundation in their fields of study but also opportunities to develop professional skills, problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a proactive mindset in response to technological changes.
By exchanging experiences at international education forums, the University can gain insights into cooperation models and educational approaches suited to the evolving demands of human resource development. These exchanges also provide a foundation for EAUT to continue improving training quality, encouraging applied research, and strengthening connections with businesses.

EAUT Connects with JICA, JETRO, and Japanese Businesses to Expand Opportunities for Students\
One of the notable activities undertaken by the EAUT delegation at the conference was a series of introductory meetings and information exchanges with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and TOA Industries.
These discussions focused on exploring potential cooperation in education and training, human resource development, and business networking. Such activities are important for expanding the University’s international partner network and identifying suitable areas for collaboration with Japanese organizations and businesses.
Cooperation with businesses is expected to create more opportunities for students to experience real working environments, understand corporate culture, and strengthen their professional skills. For students planning to work in Japan, access to information about industries, recruitment requirements, and working environments can help them take a more proactive approach to planning their studies, improving their foreign language proficiency, and developing their professional expertise.
In addition, international networking activities allow the University to better understand businesses’ workforce needs and explore training partnerships that align with practical requirements. Cooperation between educational institutions and employers can help narrow the gap between the knowledge students acquire during their studies and the requirements of their future careers.
Although the meetings at the conference represented initial discussions, they laid the groundwork for EAUT to further explore, establish, and develop practical cooperation opportunities in the future. Through these efforts, the University aims to expand international internship, professional experience, and employment opportunities for students based on their professional competencies, recruitment requirements, and specific cooperation programs.
