When the gentle spring breeze begins to arrive, the festive atmosphere of the traditional Lunar New Year spreads across the campus of Dong A University of Technology through the program “Vietnamese Spring Colors”. More than just an annual event, “Vietnamese Spring Colors” has become an emotional gathering point where lecturers and students come together to fully immerse themselves in traditional cultural values, share warmth and joy, and preserve the beautiful heritage of the nation right within a modern academic environment.
From early morning, the campus became livelier than ever. The graceful flow of traditional áo dài, the red color of calligraphy couplets, the green of dong leaves, and the fragrance of freshly harvested sticky rice all blended together to create a vibrant spring picture. Laughter echoed everywhere, eager eyes sparkled with excitement, and busy hands carefully prepared ingredients, turning EAUT into a miniature “Tet market”, where each student could reconnect with family memories and the warmth of spring moments gathered around the steaming pot of bánh chưng.
The highlight of the program was the traditional bánh chưng wrapping competition – an activity deeply rooted in Vietnamese cultural identity. More than simply a contest, it was a journey for young people to better understand the meaning of the square-shaped bánh chưng, a symbol of the earth, gratitude, and family reunion. Each leaf was carefully folded, and every portion of rice, mung beans, and pork was placed into the mold with great care and affection. Each team demonstrated not only their dexterity and creativity but also their teamwork, unity, and determination to complete their “creation” in the most perfect way.
The green, neatly wrapped bánh chưng filled with the flavor of Tet did not remain only on campus. They were delivered to the Vietnam Friendship Village as warm spring gifts. There, the cakes carried the sincere affection of EAUT youth, sharing joy with veterans and children with special circumstances. It was not merely a material gift but also the spread of gratitude, compassion, and community responsibility – values that EAUT always emphasizes in its comprehensive educational mission.
“Vietnamese Spring Colors” therefore is more than just a Tet celebration. It is a place where the spirit of unity shines, a playground where students showcase creativity and confidence, while also nurturing compassionate hearts. Every smile, every moment spent wrapping cakes together, and every story shared about Tet contributed to creating a meaningful, memorable, and fulfilling spring season.
Although the program has concluded, its echoes continue to linger. The youthful, dynamic, and humane spirit of EAUT students continues to spread, like green sprouts growing strongly in the new year.
A spring season created from the simplest things – a bánh chưng, a smile, a warm handshake – yet filled with love and hope. And it is these small moments that together formed a meaningful “Vietnamese Spring Colors”, rich in cultural identity and heartfelt connection within the EAUT family.
