On January 14, Dong A University of Technology solemnly organized the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the establishment and development of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. This milestone marks a significant moment, reflecting the persistent efforts and proud achievements of generations of leaders, lecturers, and students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in particular, as well as of Dong A University of Technology in general.
Attending the celebration were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai The Hung – Vice President of the University, in charge of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; Dr. Phan Thi Thu Huong – Vice President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Thang – Vice President of the University; partner enterprises; along with leaders, former leaders, lecturers, staff members, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
Speaking at the 10th anniversary ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai The Hung – Vice President of the University in charge of the Faculty – emotionally shared the story of how the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was established exactly 10 years ago under many challenges in terms of facilities, personnel, and training scale.
Over the past 10 years of development, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has achieved many notable results. In terms of training scale, from the first cohorts with only about 15–20 students, the Faculty has now trained and managed more than 3,000 students, with over 1,000 graduates providing technical human resources to the labor market.
Regarding training quality and employment outcomes, the employment rate of graduates within 6–12 months after graduation exceeds 90%. Many alumni are working in positions related to their majors at mechanical engineering, automotive, manufacturing companies, industrial zones, factories, dealerships, and garages both domestically and abroad. Some graduates have pursued further education at postgraduate levels or taken on key technical roles within enterprises.
In terms of academic staff, the Faculty currently has nearly 60 full-time lecturers, with 100% meeting qualification standards and over 90% holding postgraduate degrees. Many lecturers possess practical industry experience and actively participate in scientific research, textbook compilation, and teaching material development. In addition, more than 30 visiting lecturers from various universities collaborate with the Faculty in teaching and research activities.
Regarding industry collaboration, the Faculty has established partnerships with more than 60 enterprises in the fields of mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, and manufacturing. These partnerships create opportunities for students to participate in company visits, internships, practical training, and recruitment after graduation. Many enterprises have also collaborated with the Faculty in developing training programs, accepting student interns, and supporting teaching equipment.
“These achievements clearly demonstrate the sound development orientation of the Faculty and reflect the responsibility, unity, and dedication of generations of faculty members and staff of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering over the past decade,” emphasized Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai The Hung.
Building upon the achievements of the past 10 years, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will continue to innovate its training programs toward practice-oriented engineers and technicians. The Faculty will strengthen collaboration with enterprises, improve the quality of its academic staff, promote digital transformation, enhance scientific research, and contribute to community service in order to better meet labor market demands and the development of science and technology.
“With the tradition of unity, a strong sense of responsibility, and the continued support from the University and its partners, I firmly believe that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will continue to develop strongly, sustainably, and effectively in the coming years,” shared Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai The Hung.
Representing the University’s Board of Rectors at the ceremony, Dr. Phan Thi Thu Huong – Vice President – extended congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. This important occasion marks a journey of development filled with efforts and pride for one of the University’s key faculties. At the same time, Dr. Phan Thi Thu Huong expressed sincere appreciation for the contributions of generations of faculty leaders, lecturers, staff members, partner enterprises, alumni, and students who have contributed to building and developing the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering as it is today.
Dr. Phan Thi Thu Huong also affirmed that the University’s Board of Rectors will continue to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for the development of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in terms of human resources, facilities, and cooperation with domestic and international enterprises. The University expects the Faculty to continue innovating strongly, enhancing applied research, and training high-quality engineers capable of adapting and leading in the era of digital transformation and automation.
In a solemn atmosphere, partner enterprises presented congratulatory flowers and donated practical training equipment to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, demonstrating the strong connection between the university and industry while affirming confidence in the Faculty’s training quality and development potential. These facilities will contribute to improving learning and practical training conditions for students and serve as a great source of motivation for lecturers, staff, and students of the Faculty to continue striving, innovating, and creating in teaching, learning, and scientific research.
The 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – Dong A University of Technology concluded successfully. With a solid foundation built upon unity, dedicated lecturers, and strong support from the University and enterprise partners, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will continue to affirm its position as one of the University’s key training units, contributing high-quality technical human resources to society. On the journey ahead, the Faculty will continue to grow, develop sustainably, and achieve new milestones worthy of the trust of generations of lecturers, students, and partners.
